Nichola Matsikidze who was born in London, is the visionary founder of Maison de Frances, she brings an unparalleled blend of artistic sensibility, historical knowledge, and design expertise to every project. With a distinguished education in interior design and art history, Nichola's journey in the world of interior design is both rich and inspiring.
Nichola’s passion for design was ignited at a young age, inspired by her father Prescott Khaliati, a renowned architect with over 30 years of experience in the design industry. She pursued her formal education at the National Design Academy and the prestigious KLC School of Design where she honed her skills and developed a deep appreciation for aesthetics and functionality. To further enrich her understanding of art and design, Nichola studied Contemporary Art at Sotheby's and explored the History of design at Christie's. These experiences have provided her with a vast knowledge of both 20th Century and Contemporary art and design, influencing her unique approach to creating artistic and elegant interiors.
Nichola's design philosophy is rooted in the belief that every space should tell a story. Her meticulous attention to detail, coupled with her ability to blend modern aesthetics with classical elements, allows for interiors that are both timeless and eclectic. Nichola's global knowledge of design and extensive network of specialised artisans, craftsmen, and suppliers enables her to source exclusive, limited high-quality pieces that create bespoke finishes for each project.
Combining her artistic background with her father’s extensive architectural knowledge, the duo has embarked on a journey to create Maison de Frances a boutique interior design studio that specializes in bespoke interior architecture, interior styling along with interior staging and furniture sourcing. Their partnership is built on a shared vision of transforming spaces into exceptional curated spaces that reflect the personal tastes and lifestyles of their clients.
